Gooseneck Hitches

When it comes to hauling a really heavy trailer, you might want to consider snagging a gooseneck hitch. They won’t provide the smooth ride of a fifth wheel hitch, but they can handle an absolutely shocking amount of weight and they’re great for hauling toys or even horse trailers.

They’re not the best choice for recreational trailers, but the low cost and versatility of the hitch makes them a great choice for those who want to haul fully loaded trailers over rough terrain. Picking one out can seem like quite a chore if you don’t know what you’re looking for, so let us help pick the right one for you.

5th Wheel Hitches

Fifth wheel hitches are a special class of hitch designed to carry a very heavy load like a large trailer. They carry a heavier load and larger trailers than the typical ball hitch which we are all familiar with. Fifth wheel hitches are designed so that the front hitch of the trailer extends over the rear bumper.

When properly installed, the weight of the trailer should press down between the cab of the pickup and the rear axle. Fifth wheel hitches can securely haul your large trailer and belongings to and from any given destination.

NOTE: In general, you can’t get too large or beefy a hitch; but you can get one that is too light for the job….The only downside to getting one rated extra high for your needs is if you need to use the bed of your truc for other things when not towing; the heavier-duty hitch will weigh more, which will make assembly and reassembly harder.

OEM Puck Systems

Outfitting your pickup to tow a heavy-duty flatbed or livestock trailer is easy with a OEM puck system gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit. The components of the kit quickly and easily drop into the truck bed pucks, instantly equipping the truck for gooseneck towing. The kit includes a gooseneck ball, safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case.

The OEM puck system gooseneck ball perfectly fits into the center ball hole and provides a 2 5/16″ ball to fit most standard gooseneck trailers. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight.

They feature a simple drop-in installation system with no tools required, and they offer large safety chain loops to accept heavy-duty clevis hooks.

Finally, the OEM puck system gooseneck kit includes a tough rubber hole cover to keep water, dirt, grime and rust out of the gooseneck ball hole. The cover installs with a friction fit and helps extend the life of your truck gooseneck hitch.

Tow & Stow Hitches

The B&W Tow & Stow adjustable ball mount lets you tow a variety of trailers with different tongue heights. Having the option of two or three ball sizes allows for even more versatility, making this the ultimate go-to ball mount if you own multiple trailers.

Easily Adjusts and Stows
To switch the hitch ball, simply remove the pin holding the balls in place and rotate the entire block that the balls are mounted on until the ball you want to use is on top. Then replace the pin to secure the block in place.

Adjusting the height of the ball is just as easy. Remove the pins holding the ball mount platform in place and slide the platform up or down along the shank to the desired position. Once you have found the correct height, reinsert the pins and replace the clips.

When you’re not towing, you can flip the ball mount platform around and stow it beneath your hitch so that you won’t bang your shins. Just remove the pins to slide the ball platform down along the channel and up the back side so that the hitch balls face towards your vehicle. Then replace the pins.

Built-In Anti-Theft System
The Tow & Stow ball mount features a channel that runs along both sides of the shank. This channel not only allows you to slide the ball mount platform up and down to adjust the ball height, but it also prevents removal of the platform when the ball mount is installed, which will help prevent theft of your trailer.

When the Tow & Stow is secured in your hitch receiver, you will not be able to remove the ball mount platform. This is because the slot in the shank is positioned in such a way that the collar on your hitch will block the pin on the platform from being able to leave the channel. Even if the pins holding the ball mount platform in place are removed, the platform will still be confined to this channel. So, as long as a hitch lock is used to secure the entire ball mount in your hitch receiver, and a coupler lock is used to prevent your trailer’s coupler from being disengaged from the ball, your trailer will be secure.
